Our school is an educational institution for German, Latvian and foreign students from more than 25 countries. We support your child throughout their school career, from toddler group to graduation. In addition to language learning, we focus on the early development of cognitive skills in kindergarten.
The central location of our education center is unsurpassed. Located in the heart of the city, we are just a few minutes’ walk from the city’s main hot spots, and our location is especially convenient for residents of the elite Riga district – the “Klusais Centrs” (in English – the “Quiet Center”. The proximity to numerous museums, universities and scientific institutes is another advantage that allows us to offer an optimal learning environment.
Our students complete their school career at the end of year 12 with the GIB diploma. The GIB diploma is an extended version of the regular IB, specially developed for German schools abroad, which enjoys the highest international recognition and provides access to colleges and universities worldwide. For German universities, however, proof of German language proficiency is required in addition to the IB. The GIB diploma already integrates sufficient knowledge of German, so that the language certificate is not required. Within Germany, the GIB therefore has the same status as the German Abitur but offers the advantage of easier access to English-language degree courses worldwide.
Our school teaches more languages and at a significantly higher level than most other schools worldwide. Our curriculum is designed to achieve a native speaker level (C2) in German, English and one other language, optionally Latvian or Russian, in the European Framework of Reference for Languages. There is also an intermediate level (B1) in a fourth language of your choice. All our language teachers are native speakers and teach German, English, Latvian and Russian according to the standards and curriculum of the national school systems. International students living in Latvia for a limited period of time can be exempted from Latvian or Russian lessons on request.
We support lateral entrants with insufficient knowledge of German through targeted programs and individual support. This prepares them perfectly for lessons and integrates them into existing classes.

As an international German school, it is important for us to convey the cultural traditions of our country to our students. To this purpose, we offer a varied program that brings German culture closer through joint celebrations and events such as Advent and Christmas, Carnival, Easter or St. Martin’s and St. Nicholas’ Days. Parents are also often invited to join in.
