Greetings from the head of elementary school

Dear parents, dear children

I am very pleased to introduce myself to you as the head of elementary school at the German International School of Riga. My name is Marietheres Hoch, I am 46 years old and come from Aachen, a city on the border with Belgium and the Netherlands.

After studying mathematics, German and Catholic theology in Münster and completing my teacher traineeship in Bad Honnef, I worked as an elementary school teacher in Leverkusen for 14 years. Over the last four years, I have helped to set up a new elementary school in Cologne-Kalk and have been the provisional principal for two years.

Now I am fulfilling my wish to spend some time abroad and I am particularly looking forward to working in Riga. What I love about my job is being with children every day because they are so spontaneous and authentic. I am convinced that every child has different hidden talents, and I want to help students develop them fully.
